MY METHODS OF STAYING ENTERTAINED IN THE PERIOD OF LOCKDOWN                                                                                                

We need to work, educate, and chill all from our home due to a minute corona virus that brought lockdown in the whole wode world suddenly out of nowhere. Amidst lockdown, we cannot even eat at restaurants, go to movie theatres or workout at the gym, and all this is showing how socializing is becoming narrow and narrower. But we need to see this lockdown with a positive perspective, take it as a great opportunity to enhance our skills and knowledge and stay creative, productive and healthy.

Besides working on self-improvement, learning new skills, and exploring the world, opportunities and scope; following are my methods of staying entertained in the period of lockdown:-

GOOD FAMILY TIME – BEST PART OF LOCKDOWN



Earlier, it was quite difficult for all of us to spend some spend with our family members together under one roof because of the economic and academic engagements and busy schedule. I get so happy and feel so fresh and relaxed after spending a couple of hours with my family talking, laughing, and remembering old memories of our childhoods; while having a cup of coffee and chunking on some cookies. Sometimes, families are complicated, but building understandings among each other requires communication and engagement. 

 READING AND THINKING



In this social distancing and quarantine period, we can get a lot of anxiety and stress, also overthinking can upset our mental health. Since we are all cooped up at our homes, we have a lot of time to start reading books that we always only thought of reading but never get time to read. I love to read books and especially self-help books. Reading books transports our anxious thoughts to another world of positivity and hopes. It makes me feel calm and pampered. Our thoughts and beliefs decide what kind of person we will become. Therefore, reading self-help and other non-fiction books can take care of our mental health as well as our thinking process.

 MOVIES AND CHILL


As days and months are passing by, in the quest of killing time we all cannot thank our smartphones, laptops, PCs, and TVs enough for being our quarantine partners. The streaming platform is one of the best sources of entertainment and Netflix, Amazon Prime, Voot, etc. are providing many streaming services and a wide variety of options. Sometimes, I love to bring myself some chips, cookies and coffee and binge-watch movies and web series. It’s just like a pamper day for me and I love it.

             SIMPLE WORKOUTS AND DETOX

Whenever I feel like I need to de-stress myself, I start doing some stretching, rope skipping, and some simple exercises, and sometimes yoga too. Maintaining a healthy body and getting fresh air is very important during this lockdown because we cannot go out and we are doing least physical work, everything is happening online and everyone is working from home.  The minimum amount of workout can help a lot to stay fit and healthy during this lockdown period. Taking a good deep sleep, some light workout, and green tea every morning is my key to keep up with this lockdown stress and detoxify my body. 



I know that even though sometimes I get kind of bored in this lock down, but I am going to miss this time. We will not get so much time again to stay at home, engage with family members, re-connection with old friends, cooking new recipes, and having me-time as much as we are getting now.  So, I am trying to get the most out of it.
